David Koster of Rehoboth Beach reaffirmed his status as an elite photographer, once again earning the Certified Professional Photographer designation from Professional Photographers of America. Koster, who owns and operates Portraits In The Sand in Rehoboth Beach, successfully completed the requirements required to keep his CPP designation.
Every three years, CPPs must show they have maintained the mark of excellence the designation represents. Koster earned this designation after meeting challenging requirements that measure his artistic and technical competence. He has been certified since 2004. PPA currently recognizes fewer than 2,500 Certified Professional Photographers and only four in Delaware.
"These days, anyone with a camera can say they're a photographer. But, just because you have a typewriter, that doesn't make you an Ernest Hemingway. Certification proves my technical competence and that I know enough about business to consistently deliver a quality printed product,” said Koster.
Professional Photographers of America is the leading body for certifying imaging professionals in the United States. Certified Professional Photographers must pass a written examination, submit a portfolio for review, and adhere to a strict code of conduct that upholds their mark of excellence. Certification must be renewed every three years, ensuring continuing confidence in the professionalism of Certified Professional Photographers.
