Project Kudos powered by Schell Brothers recently spearheaded a food drive inspired by the Food Bank of Delaware's CANgineering project.
A food drive structure building competition,CANgineering is a creative way to collect donations to benefit food-insecure Delawareans, while encouraging spirited competition amongst local organizations and schools. Teams sign up, hold a food drive and use the items they have collected to create sculptures.
Instead of entering the sculpture in the competition, organizers proceeded with the goal of involving the community and other local businesses to do a food donation for the families in need in Delaware in their own creative way. At the same time, by displaying the sculptures at Schellville the project would receive the awareness that it deserves and allow the thousands of people who visit the location during the holidays to interact with it and be inspired.
After a few long days of rendering, the Project Kudos team concluded that 5,895 cans would be needed to build the sculptures. The net was more than 6,500 cans donated from the local community, homeowners and businesses including Bayhealth, Dogfish Head, Carl M Freeman Companies, Bayside Resort Golf Club, Bear Trap Dunes, Beebe Medical Foundation, Browseabout Books. The Starboard. La Vida Hospitality, Twain + Abel and The Stables Studio.
