Quilts of Valor holds sewing day

Local quilters gathered at the Indian River Senior Center Feb. 2 to create quilts for the Quilts of Valor Foundation. Quilts of Valor is a nonprofit foundation whose goal is to cover all physically or psychologically wounded service members with a freedom quilt, honoring them for their sacrifices.
The movement was originally started by Catherine Roberts of Seaford in 2003, but has now spread across the United States and even has an international presence.
