Race for Open Space steps off April 20 in Lewes

The Greater Lewes Foundation Open Space Alliance campaign team and the Seashore Striders will host the inaugural Race for Open Space Saturday, April 20, at George H.P. Smith Park in Lewes.

Both the 5K run and 1-mile walk routes will pass by the Fourth Street Preserve, and event proceeds will benefit the campaign to purchase and permanently protect this 29-acre historic property along West Fourth Street that has remained untouched for the past 350-plus years.

A group of 15 Lewes Elementary School students will receive prizes for artwork they created to promote the preservation campaign, and their works will be on display.
