Jace’s teacher described him as a great student and friend. He has an infectious smile and a desire to learn. Jace has shown growth in his academics and leadership roles. He encourages his classmates to work hard and keeps the class laughing.

Kaia’s teacher praised her progress in the Spanish immersion program. Kaia has a wonderful imagination, and enjoys talking to her teachers and peers about her accomplishments. She is a cheerful and kind child.

Each student received a $20 gift card to Browseabout Books in Rehoboth and the book, “The Highest Tribute: Thurgood Marshall’s Life, Leadership, and Legacy,” by Kekla Magoon. SDARJ contributes $15 to each gift card, and Browseabout contributes $5.

SDARJ’s education committee initiated the award to recognize students who represent the ideals of leadership, effort, and excellence in their schools. Two students from each school in the Cape Henlopen School District will be recognized.
