During the winter and spring, the youth education committee of the Southern Delaware Alliance for Racial Justice delivered Zoom modules to volunteer student participants from Sussex Tech, Sussex Academy and Cape Henlopen high schools.
The modules addressed the topics of cultural competence, anti-racism and the history of slavery in Delaware.
Module coordinators from the alliance virtually provided short lectures, discussions and breakout groups, and helped coordinate student development of shared resources.
A ceremony recognizing the work of these students was held May 26 at The Circle in Georgetown. Several students and their parents attended the ceremony, during which students were recognized for their accomplishments.
