RadNet cuts ribbon on mammography service at Milford Walmart

May 6, 2024

In partnership with Walmart, RadNet’s Delaware Imaging Network celebrated a cutting-edge facility dedicated to providing accessible and convenient breast screening services to the Milford community. A ribbon-cutting ceremony with opening remarks from local and state officials was held April 20 at the Walmart Supercenter in Milford.
The facility, which opened in December 2023, is staffed by expert radiologists and technologists, and will offer walk-in screening mammograms that last just 15 minutes.
State and local officials in attendance included Sheryl Swoopes, RadNET spokeswoman and WNBA star; Lt. Gov. Bethany Hall-Long, Sen. Eric Buckson, R-Dover; Rep. Bryan Shupe, R-Milford; Robert J. Scott, Kent County Fourth District commissioner; Milford Mayor Archie Campbell; and Andrea Harvey, senior manager, Everyday Services at Walmart.

“Reflecting on my journey, I've come to appreciate the profound impact accessible healthcare services can have on local communities," said Swoopes. "Growing up in a small town similar to Milford, I recognize the critical importance of readily available screening services,” said Swoopes. “I’m proud to lend my voice to this important initiative and am committed to advocating for underserved communities to have increased access to life-saving preventive care.”

"With the support of Sheryl Swoopes, our MammogramNow initiative will help those women without access to breast cancer screening services to receive their annual screening mammograms. I believe that this initiative will ultimately save lives,” said Dr. Howard Berger, CEO and Founder of RadNet.
