Rehoboth’s Park Avenue in the early 1900s

January 25, 2018

Park Avenue in Rehoboth Beach, one of the city's last dirt streets, was in the news recently because of a demolition permit issued for a home in the same block as the former Corner Cupboard complex. Nancy Alexander, director of the Rehoboth Beach Museum, found this picture postcard from the early 1900s showing the first block of Park Avenue. Those familiar with this section of Park, paved in the intervening years, will recognize at least one of the homes in the postcard which is still standing today.
