Rehoboth Art League to host 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'

Performances set for June 2, July 7 and Aug. 4
May 25, 2012

The Shakespearean classic "A Midummer Night's Dream" comes to the gardens of the Rehoboth Art League for 4 p.m. performances on summer first Saturdays, June 2, July 7 and Aug. 4. The New Faces of Shakespeare, an affiliate of Possum Point Players in Georgetown, will perform.

The production is directed by Beverly Smith. Volunteer actors have been rehearsing since early spring to get ready for the show. “We are thrilled to partner with Possum Point Players to bring this theatrical production to Rehoboth,” says Art League Executive Director Sheila Bravo. “The gardens are a perfect setting for this play.”

"A Midsummer Night’s Dream" takes place at the wedding of Theseus and Hippolyta in the woodlands under the moonlight. Fairy misbehavings, magical potions, poorly prepared actors, and forbidden love dominate the theme of this clever story.

A rainy day will move the production into the league’s Chambers Building. Tickets can be ordered in advance at www.rehobothartleague.org.

The Rehoboth Art League is a membership-based, nonprofit arts organization dedicated to encouraging and preserving the arts in Delaware.
