Spring is the time for sprucing up in the Cape Region, and the Atlantic Sands Hotel in Rehoboth Beach is doing just that.

For the last few weeks, wooden stringers have been attached to the exterior of the hotel facing Baltimore Avenue. An employee at the front desk said the wood has been put in place while old glass panels and railings on the balconies are removed and replaced. The work is expected to be completed in the next couple of weeks, he said.

In addition to the balconies, the hotel’s Facebook page says all the queen suites are being renovated. The hotel’s coffee shop, formerly called Mojo Coffee House, has also seen upgrades and been rebranded as Kiwi’s Kafe. The new name matches the theme of the hotel’s Boardwalk-facing bar and restaurant Kiwi’s Tiki Hut.
