Rehoboth Beach Country Club opening-day golf results posted
The Rehoboth Beach Country Club 18-Hole Ladies held their opening-day tournament May 23 with an ABCD scramble.
The team of (l-r) Jean Archino, Carole Ann Medd, Connie Kotula and Barb Morgan took first place with a 49. The teams of Daisey Hudson, Jeanette Travis, Bee Ekdahl and Sharon Emerson, and Karen Storms, Pat Beebe and Judy Holtzclaw tied for second with a score of 50.
Perry Drevo, Gayle Cox, Kathy Curry and Linda Welch tied with Ella Alexander, Pauline Porter, Gigi Lank and Diane Strickler for fourth place with a score of 52.
In the closest to the pin competition, Perry Drevo won on the third hole with a shot 22-feet-8-inches from the cup. Barb Bullock's shot 15 feet away from the hole on the fifth was good enough for the win. Pauline Porter put a shot 8-feet-7.5-inches away to win the 13th hole. Lynn Webster won the 15th hole with a shot 5-feet-5-inches from the pin.
Daisey Hudson won the closest to the line competition on the fourth hole with a shot 6-feet-8-inches off line.
