Cinema Art Theater: This Week is currently offering the following streaming films:

• Balloon: Audience Award winner for Best Feature at the 2019 Rehoboth Beach Independent Film Festival. The film society wanted to bring it back for a run at the Cinema Art Theater but it didn't happen. Thanks to Distrib Films US, viewers now have the opportunity to see this suspenseful story.

In 1979, two German families risked everything to find freedom. Based on true events, “Balloon” follows the Strelzyk and Wetzel families as they dare to cross the inner German border from the GDR to West Germany in a homemade hot-air balloon. After an initial failure, the wreckage left behind alerts authorities to their plan. Danger mounts as they are pursued by the Stasi with the help of informants. Starring Friedrich Mücke, Karoline Schuch, David Kross, Alicia Von Rittberg and Thomas Kretschmann.

• Once Were Brothers: Robbie Robertson and The Band: A musical documentary that follows an artist’s young life and the creation of one of the most enduring groups in the history of popular music. The film is a moving story of guitarist/songwriter Robbie Robertson's personal journey, overcoming adversity and finding camaraderie alongside the four other men who would become his brothers in music, forming the group The Band. They worked together to make their amazing mark on music history. “Once Were Brothers: Robbie Robertson and the Band” blends rare archival footage, photography (137 photographs by Elliot Landy), iconic songs, and interviews with many of Robertson's friends and collaborators including Bruce Springsteen, George Harrison, Eric Clapton, Van Morrison, Martin Scorsese, Peter Gabriel, Taj Mahal, Dominique Robertson, Ronnie Hawkins, and more. Executive producers include Martin Scorsese and Ron Howard.

• Saint Frances: In this comedic drama, Bridget has an abortion just as she lands a much-needed job in affluent Evanston, Ill., as nanny to 6-year-old Frances. With no time to recover, she clashes with the obstinate child and struggles to navigate a growing tension between Frances' moms. As her own personal relationships suffer, a reluctant friendship with Frances emerges, and Bridget contends with the inevitable joys and trials of becoming a part of someone else's family.

• The Perfect Nanny: Myriam and Paul are your typical pair of Parisian bourgeois and bohemian, and parents of two young children, toddler Adam and 5-year-old Mila, who are taking up all of Myriam’s time. When Myriam decides to go back to work despite her husband’s initial reluctance, the couple starts looking for a nanny. After a very selective process, they finally find the perfect candidate, Louise, a poised 40-year old woman who is an instant hit with both kids and parents. But appearances can be deceiving, even dangerous.

• The Whistlers: Not everything is as it seems for Cristi, a police inspector in Bucharest who plays both sides of the law. Embarking with the beautiful Gilda on a high-stakes heist, both will have to navigate the twists and turns of corruption, treachery and deception. A trip to the Canary Islands to learn a secret whistling language might just be what they need to pull it off.

• The Etruscan Smile: This moving drama stars Brian Cox as Rory MacNeil, a rugged old Scotsman who reluctantly leaves his beloved isolated Hebridean island and travels to San Francisco to seek medical treatment. Moving in with his estranged son, Rory sees his life transformed through a newly found bond with his grandson.

• The Dog Doc: A founding father of integrative veterinary medicine, Dr. Marty Goldstein and his colleagues in South Salem, N.Y., have created a mecca for holistic care, offering hope to scores of previously hopeless animals (and their owners). Combining conventional medical training with cutting-edge alternative therapies, Dr. Marty’s deeply empathetic philosophy offers a vital example of how improving overall health rather than merely treating disease is transformative for all living things.
