The Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Co. hosted its annual awards banquet April 1, at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center. Members and guests gathered to honor and recognize years of service, new additions to the company, special achievements and more.
According to the fire and EMS statistics found on its website, in 2022, the RBVFC responded to 800 fire calls and 4,001 emergency medical services calls in its district, which includes Rehoboth Beach, Dewey Beach and areas of the county stretching down Route 24 to Angola. Both of these numbers were all-time highs. Through March 2023, the fire company has already responded to 131 fire calls and 778 EMS calls.
