Rehoboth Beach’s Munson Street gets yellow lines

Traffic-calming measure requested by property owners

At the request of Munson Street residents, Rehoboth Beach has installed a double yellow line down the center of the street.

The newly painted lines are among a few traffic-calming measures the city has agreed to undertake on Munson Street, which is one of two streets in south Rehoboth – the other is Hickman – that allows motorists to get to the beach area without having to drive on Rehoboth Avenue.

Other traffic-calming items include yellow squares in front of driveways and digital speed-limit signs.

During a commissioner workshop in early December, Interim City Manager Evan Miller said he expected the speed-limit signs to be installed in January and the rest of the painting to be completed in the spring.
