Rehoboth Concert Band to offer period jazz favorites Oct. 13

The Rehoboth Concert “Baby” Band will enhance the jazz weekend festivities with a performance featuring big band jazz of the 1930s and ‘40s from 4 to 5:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 13, at the Unitarian Universalists of Southern Delaware Church, 30486 Lewes-Georgetown Hwy., Lewes.
The event will kick off with an opening act by vocal and piano duo Valerie McNickol and Aimee Wiest. Attendees can swing to the tunes of greats such as Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, George and Ira Gershwin, and Dave Brubeck.
Tickets are $15 per adult at the door, cash only; those age 18 and under attend free. The Rehoboth Concert Band is supported, in part, by a grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
