PNC Bank will celebrate the opening of its new Rehoboth Beach branch with a community event from noon to 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 17. The grand-opening event will include free food, entertainment, games, celebrity guests and prizes for the whole family.

Branch Manager Jeff Liswell and the rest of the PNC Bank team will welcome area residents and host tours of this new Green Branch location.

“This new branch is an investment by PNC in the health and vitality of this community,” Liswell said. “We want our customers to bank with ease and confidence, and we pledge to always act in their best interest to achieve their financial goals.”

The grand-opening celebration at the Rehoboth branch will feature a free money giveaway in which the first 100 people in line will receive an envelope that may include up to $100. One lucky person will walk away with $100.

Retired Baltimore Ravens offensive tackle Jonathan Ogden will meet visitors and sign autographs from 1 to 3 p.m. Other activities include light refreshments; caricaturists and a magician; the PNC Prize Wheel; the PNC Virtual Wallet College Corner; information about the Grow Up Great program; and a visit by the PNC mascot, Linky. In addition, participants may enter to win a $500 or $100 gift card to the Tanger Outlets.

Drive-through service is available during branch hours, and there is 24-hour automatic teller machine (ATM) service. One ATM is located at the drive-through, and the other is in the ATM card-accessible vestibule.

PNC offers advanced technology, including its Internet Café, which provides computers with web access to conduct PNC online banking. LCD TV screens display business-related news and information. It also offers a business banking center in which small business owners and entrepreneurs can meet with a specialist to discuss business and banking needs.

PNC is Green Branch
PNC is the first U.S. bank to design and build environmentally friendly Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)-certified bank branches in the United States. It is the only bank permitted to use the unique term Green Branch, based on the registered trademark granted by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. The trademark is affirmation of PNC’s leadership and commitment to green business practices since 1998. To date, PNC has more newly constructed LEED-certified green buildings – 66 - than any company in the world.

More than 50 percent of materials used in PNC’s Green Branch locations are locally manufactured or made from recycled or green materials. Energy usage is reduced 35 percent or more compared to a traditional branch, and water usage is reduced by nearly 4,000 gallons a year. Window walls are three times more efficient than code and provide an open, airy space for employees and customers.
