Richard James Moore, self-employed painter

Richard James Moore of Milton passed away peacefully at home Friday, Jan. 10, 2025. He was born Dec. 24, 1967, at Milford Memorial Hospital.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles E. Moore and Joyce K. Moore; and a brother, Chuck Moore

Rich is survived by his best friend and wife, Denise; his two sons, Chris Moore (Ashley) and R.J. Moore (Ashley); four grandchildren, Katelynn, Jackson, Croix and Wesson Moore; his brother, Danny Moore (Judy); a sister, Teet Sharp; his stepmother, Donna F. Moore; niece, Madison Moore; nephew, Billy Turner (Kelly); aunt, Norlyn Ritter; three great-nephews; and a great-niece.

Rich was a self-employed painting contractor. He enjoyed NASCAR races, camping, hunting, and fishing, and his favorite football team was the Washington Redskins.

Services will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 25, at Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton. A celebration of Rich’s life for family and friends will be held following the services from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., at Broadkiln VFW Post 6984, Milton.
