Robert William O'Shea, Delta retiree

Robert William O’Shea, 75, of Millsboro, formerly of Long Island, N.Y., passed away Sunday, June 21, 2015, at his home.

Bob was born in Jamaica, N.Y. July 29, 1939, son of the late Mills and Irene (Miller) O’Shea. He was a graduate of St. Francis Preparatory School in Brooklyn, N.Y., and received his bachelor’s degree from Saint Michael’s College in Vermont.

Mr. O’Shea worked at John F. Kennedy International Airport for Pan Am airlines from 1965-90 and retired from Delta as a supervisor in 2002. Bob was an avid sports fan, loved golfing, taking long road trips and going to the casinos. He will be forever remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Diane (Kocher) O’Shea; three children, Thomas (Jamie) O’Shea, Timothy (Karen) O’Shea. all of Long Island, and Lauren (Craig) Walsh of Spring, Texas; a brother, Hugh Francis O’Shea of Myerstown, Pa.; a sister, Patricia VanAcken of Milton; and six grandchildren, Chelsea, Caitlan, Colleen, Ashley and Tyler O’Shea and Ronan Walsh.

A visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, June 25, at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Road, Millsboro, where the prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, June 26, at Mary Mother of Peace Catholic Church, 30839 Mt. Joy Road, Millsboro. Interment will be held privately in Allentown, Pa.
