Ron Smisek, loved antiquing

Ron Smisek, 78, passed away Monday, Nov. 27, 2023.  

 

He was born in Fort Monmouth, N.J., and grew up in Beckley, W.Va., before moving to Silver Spring, Md. He graduated from Montgomery Blair High School in 1963 before becoming a Montgomery County police officer in Maryland. After leaving the department, he moved out west and became head of security at the Phoenician Resort in Scottsdale, Ariz., until retiring in 2017. He has always been an avid picker from coast to coast. In 2019, he decided to come back to the East Coast, and made a stop in Millsboro to see family and never left. He loved the beach area and met a lot of people who shared the same interests. He also had booths in many shops in the area. He will be missed by many.
