Ronald Allen Ashby, master carpenter

Ronald “Rony” Allen Ashby passed on to rest Friday, Jan. 4,2013.

Born May 25, 1966, Rony was an amazing person who had an indescribable zest for life that immediately filled a room when he would enter it. He was gifted and talented as a master carpenter and always strived to reach perfection on each job he completed whether large or small.

Rony completely and successfully loved his family each and every day, and his presence will always be missed. He was blessed with many friends and was the guy who might have been the one to help you pay for your groceries if you found yourself short of money. He thrived on doing things for others and being a positive role model for many people.

Rony dearly loved and is survived by his best friend and spouse, Kimberly (Kim) Peel Ashby; his daughters, Alisha Ashby (boyfriend, Shae Bair), Courtney Ashby (boyfriend, Chris Hiatt) and Ainsley Devore (boyfriend, Kim Johnson Jr.); son, Jason Devore (girlfriend, Leah Ammons); and adopted son, Tyler Edwards (girlfriend, Cassandra Waples).

Rony was blessed with six beautiful grandchildren: Dante, Xziah, Shiauna, Jazarae, Anjayah and Rylie. Rony will also be missed by his mother, Ann Smith; stepfather Jim Smith; brothers George Ashby, Matthew Ashby; sisters Patricia Kelly and Valerie Plump. Rony was preceded in death by his father, George Ashby; and son Justin Devore.

The family has chosen to comply with Rony's wishes to be an organ donor. Also as requested, a private memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests in remembrance of Rony, that each of who knew him or is reading this "pay it forward" to someone in need.
