Rose Colored Lasses donate to Delaware Hospice

February 15, 2015

Once again, Delaware Hospice wants to acknowledge the hard work of the home-grown, community-centered organization called The Rose Colored Lasses for their continued support.

For the past two years, The Rose Colored Lasses have held a Christmas House Tour to raise money for the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. This past year, 55 visitors were given house tours by Delaware Hospice staff to familiarize guests about the home-away-from-home services the Delaware Hospice Center provides to patients and their families.

Through their 10-year history, The Rose Colored Lasses have organized and executed events such as bake sales, auctions, car washes, chili cook-offs, and selling homemade jewelry to help support local community needs.

Lasses member Rosie Babel said, “We selected Delaware Hospice as our beneficiary because we believe it is one of the most wonderful organizations. Delaware Hospice provides much-needed care and comfort at the most difficult times, not just for the patients, but for the caregivers and their families.”

“The Rose Colored Lasses have been a great partner to work with over the past two years,” said Clinical Supervisor of Inpatient Services Debbie Taylor, RN, BA. “Last year’s donation enabled the center to purchase a crushed ice machine for our patients. The donation of $2,400 this year will once again provide a great benefit for the care of our patients and their families. The Delaware Hospice Center is very appreciative of all the local support, and we look forward to working with The Rose Colored Lasses in the coming years.”
