A second crash reported about 1:30 p.m. May 12 near Nassau bridge on Route 1 again impacted traffic. The crash has since been cleared
Master Cpl. Gary Fournier of the Delaware State Police said the crash occurred in the southbound lanes of Route 1, but no additional information was immediately available.
About an hour earlier, a crash in the same area in the northbound lanes was reported. Shortly before noon, a Volvo traveling north on Route 1 was hit in the left rear by an eastbound F350 pickup truck crossing Route 1 toward Nassau Road, causing the Volvo to overturn. That crash was cleared about 1 p.m.
The man driving the truck, who police have not identified, was uninjured and was cited for failure to remain stopped. The woman driving the Volvo was taken to Beebe with non-life-threatening injuries.
Information about the second crash will be posted when it becomes available.
Since 2012, there have been 37 reported collisions near or at that intersection, including the two crashes May 12, Fournier said.
