Route 9, Georgetown to Lewes, in the 1920s
September 5, 2017
Raining and flooding cause problems in lots of areas. With last weekend’s rain, and all eyes now on Irma which might come up the coast - not to mention the devastation in Houston from Hurricane Harvey - moisture is on many people’s minds. At least our paved roads don’t turn into muddy quagmires following heavy rains as was the case with Route 9 between Georgetown and Lewes in the 1920s before paving.
