Roy V. Smith, home builder
Mr. Roy V. Smith, 41, of Selbyville, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at the Delaware Hospice Center, after a long illness.
Roy was born Oct. 7, 1971, in Salisbury, Md. to the late Mack C. and Irma Timmons Smith.
He was owner/operator of his own construction business, R.S. Contractors. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Roxana. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and loved building custom homes.
He was a devoted husband, father, brother and friend who will be sorely missed.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Sarah Smith of Selbyville; sons Roy Tyler and Dylan Smith also of Selbyville; brother Mack Kennedy Smith and wife Joan of Gumboro; sister Debbie Lynn Smith of Millsboro; brothers Timothy Kevin Smith and wife Mary Gale of Gumboro, and Richard Charles Smith and companion Lisa Fisher of Georgetown; his mother-in-law Norma Smith; and his canine friend Drake. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends and extended family across the area.
There will be a viewing at 11 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 13, both at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro. Burial will follow at Redmen’s Cemetery in Selbyville. Pastor Danny Tice will officiate.
