Ruby Slevin, woman of faith
Ruby Slevin passed away Saturday, Sept. 9, 2023.
She was born July, 3, 1924, in Kentucky, to Willie and China Hickson Osborne. Ruby was the loving wife of the late Eugene Slevin.
Ruby had a strong faith in God and belief in the life to come. One of her favorite songs was “How Beautiful Heaven Must Be.”
For many years, Ruby enjoyed growing a large variety of fruits and vegetables in her garden. In her later years, she spent countless hours putting jigsaw puzzles together and working her puzzle books, watching “Wheel of Fortune” and “The Big Joe Polka Show Classics.” She will be remembered for her wit, sense of humor, and loving devotion to her family.
Ruby will be dearly missed by her sister, Lucille Jones of Camp Hill, Pa.; her three grandchildren, Elaine M. Herring (Steve) of Ephrata, Pa., George E. Klinger (Aimee) of Bridgeville, and Michele Mulford (Lars) of Seaford; and her three great-grandchildren, Steven A. Herring, Amy Herring and Rachel Mulford.
She was preceded in death by her only child, Elaine Klinger (wife of George William Klinger) of Dagsboro; her great-granddaughter, Kathryn West; her first husband, Arlie Ball; three brothers, Charlie, Bud and Clarence; five sisters, Florence, Hazel, Virginia, Lois and Marie.
Services will be private.
