Sagamore Spirits cocktail class at Bethany Blues Sept. 26

September 21, 2019

Bethany Blues of Lewes and Sagamore Spirits will host their first cocktail lab starting at 6 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 26. The lab will feature rye whiskey cocktails in a hands-on experience of mixing and tasting.

“Not only will customers have the chance to learn about crafting classic cocktails, but they will also have the chance to mix up their own creations,” said Nicole Giannella, Lewes catering manager. “From the customer-created lineup, we will choose one winner, and their drink will be featured in our October specials.” The winner will also nab a Sagamore swag bag with lots of goodies in it.

Sagamore Spirits features a diverse collection of rye whiskies, and each has a distinct flavor profile. For the cocktail lab, Sagamore Spirits Region Manager Heather Shapiro will feature several varieties including signature, cask, double oak, cognac finish, and Bethany Blues barrel select.

She and a colleague will lead the group through making a proper old-fashioned and a Manhattan before loosing them with their own ingredients to come up with signature cocktails.

The cost is $30 per person. Light appetizers, snacks and a welcome cocktail will all be served, in addition to tastes of the drinks the bartenders will be mixing. The event will be interactive as well as educational.

Space is limited to 30 participants. To sign up, go to www.bethanyblues.com.
