Homebuilder Schell Brothers has agreed to a long-term commitment to build additional warehouse and office space in Rehoboth Beach. The land on Martin Street adjacent to their current headquarters on Phillips Street in Rehoboth Beach will be home to two warehouses and a new office building. This deal ensures that Schell Brothers will have the space to continue to hire more staff and strengthen their commitment to Delaware.

“As we expand into new areas, it is great to know that we can continue to work from this area that we love and call home. We have been approached with many opportunities to develop office complexes in alternative locations, but this one felt right. And it could not be a better location for us since it is next to our headquarters,” said Tim Green of Schell Brothers.

Schell Brothers and its affiliated companies of Ocean Atlantic Associates, Echelon Homes, Echelon Interiors, Clean Energy USA, and Home Innovations currently have over 160 employees, all currently based in Delaware. The new office will have room for approximately 30 more employees. The warehouses will serve as the home base for solar company Clean Energy USA, interior design professionals Echelon Interiors, and audio-video specialists Home Innovations.

“We work with some of the best and brightest in Delaware and we want to make sure they have an opportunity to stay close to home. I know I will always want to stay here in Delaware. This is a great place to live,” said Chris Schell, president of Schell Brothers.

Schell Brothers currently maintains its headquarters at 20184 Phillips St. in Rehoboth Beach. The space includes over 70 offices, a large gym for its employees and an award-winning design center for Schell Brothers and Echelon homebuyers to personalize the houses they purchase.

David T. King of RE/MAX Realty Group facilitated the successful transaction of the Martin Lot on Martin Street behind the landmark Big Fish Grill to the Schell Brothers Corporation. King identified Schell Brothers as a perfect fit for the space and was integral in bringing both parties together. King said it is a win-win situation for both the Martin family and the Schell Brothers Corporation.

Schell Brothers will begin construction on the warehouses when all approvals are met and plan to begin construction of the office building in 2015, pending building permits for all structures.
