Schellville kick-starts another holiday season

Schellville’s Enchanted Winter Celebration opened to a large crowd Nov. 18 at its location behind Tanger Outlets Seaside near Rehoboth Beach.

Included in Schellville are a roller skating rink; Snow Zone with soft faux snowballs and playground equipment; snow machines; a sledding hill; the Schellville Express train, which rides through a large light tunnel; the Magical Maze and Beer Garden with igloos; more than 1,000 live, decorated Christmas trees; a new children’s play area; and Artisan Lane, featuring more than 30 small businesses.

Food and drink options are plentiful, with food trucks, a hospitality tent, standalone food options, Dewey Beer and Dogfish Head bars, and The Starboard Crush Bar.

Santa and Mrs. Claus take up residence in Santa’s Chalet. And one of the most popular children’s activities is to explore the 18 miniature, decorated buildings, which started the idea for Schellville in 2017.

Admission is free. Live music is offered every night Schellville is open.

Schellville operates from 5 to 9 p.m., Nov. 25, 26, 30; and Dec. 1-3, 7-10, 14-19 and 26-30.

Walk ins are welcome, but reservations are recommended at schellbrothers.com.

A larger-than-life nutcracker is near the entrance to the Magical Maze and Beer Garden.
There are several spots to relax and warm yourself at fire pits.
Large lighted displays are placed throughout the village and especially in the Magical Maze.
Not all trees are green. This handcrafted wooden Christmas tree is one of a kind.
