Seaford man faces drug charges after Georgetown-area traffic stop
A Seaford man faces drug charges after a traffic stop Dec. 1 near Georgetown.
Enrique Azuara, 22, was driving at 12:32 p.m. on Seashore Highway near Wilson Hill Road when, police said, he passed a vehicle on the right. After pulling Azuara over, police said, a computer check showed he had a suspended driver’s license and an arrest warrant. Azuara was taken into custody without incident. During a search of the car, police said they found about 3.06 grams of cocaine, about 4.50 grams of methamphetamines, half of an Oxycodone pill, a broken scale that was damaged by Azuara during the stop, plastic containers, and $1,976 in suspected drug proceeds.
Azuara was taken to Troop 5 where he was charged with three counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, felony tampering with physical evidence, possession of drug paraphernalia, passing on the right, driving while suspended or revoked, and possession of a suspended license. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $5,802 secured bond.
