Seaford Walmart Supercenter mural unveiled
Walmart customers in Seaford were welcomed inside the newly transformed Supercenter on Sussex Highway June 16, as the much-anticipated project is now complete.
Walmart associates marked the occasion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, celebration and unveiling of a community-inspired mural. The event was attended by customers, associates, local Seaford organizations and elected officials.
Kimberly Ream, store manager, highlighted the store’s transformations. New interactive features available to customers include: An increased number of self-checkout lanes; an upgraded technology and digital space; updated restrooms, including a mother’s room; and improved navigational signage.
The store’s pharmacy area has expanded to include health service privacy rooms that will fulfill all customer prescription needs while also providing a range of immunizations.
“This store is where I began my career in 1992, so being part of this community has been incredibly meaningful. Walmart is truly dedicated to our community here in Seaford and this transformation meets the needs of our customers here in Delaware,” said Ream.
To reinforce Walmart’s dedication to the communities it serves, the store manager presented $5,000 in grants to local nonprofit organizations: Seaford District Library, Georgetown Elementary School, Society of St. Vincent de Paul Council, We R Elite, and Eastern Shore AFRAM Festival.
The store’s new community mural is an eye-catching installation that reflects the diversity and local events of the community. Seaford is part of Walmart’s Community Mural Program, the largest public-facing art installation celebrating communities across America. Walmart’s Community Mural Program is an important part of each store transformation and furthers Walmart’s commitment to the local community.
Upgrades at the Seaford Walmart Supercenter/Store include: Transformed store feature displays showcasing products that are out of their boxes so customers can imagine them fitting into their daily lives; more space for customers to explore and discover the breadth and depth of what their local store has to offer; and new digital touch points located throughout the store help to communicate to customers the vast range of products and services Walmart offers online through the use of QR codes and digital screens.
For example, in Walmart’s pets area, a customer may scan the QR code to find additional dog bed options, learn about Walmart’s pet insurance service options or have a 20-pound bag of kibble delivered to their door.
The Seaford store continues to offer pickup, delivery and touch-free Walmart Pay options. To take advantage of these Walmart shopping features, customers can download the Walmart app through Apple Store or Google Play.
