Sigrid Kläire Rodriguez-Costa, well-known hairdresser

June 6, 2015

Sigrid Kläire Rodriguez-Costa, 80, of Milton, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2015.

Mrs. Rodriguez-Costa was born Feb. 15, 1935, in Gotendorf, Germany. She then came to America with the Swiss ambassador and his wife to Washington, D.C., where she met her husband, Hector, settling first in Lewes, then eventually moved to Milton.

Sigrid was a well-known self-employed hairdresser in the Lewes and Rehoboth area. She was also the manager at Holiday Hair Salon in Rehoboth Beach. Sigrid was one of a set of triplets, the only baby girl in a houseful of boys. Some of her favorite childhood memories with her brothers were running through poppy flower fields, playing in the cattails, and eating blueberries and milk until their teeth turned blue. She enjoyed going to social events, and entertaining family and friends. Also, she spent her time going to theater shows, listening to classical music, and viewing art museums. Sigrid loved spending time with her family and friends, whether it was going out to lunch or just having simple visits at home.

Mrs. Rodriguez-Costa is now reunited with her two beloved children, David J. Rodriguez-Costa and Constance R. Rodriguez-Costa. She is survived by her four grandchildren, Dominique G. Tusso of Milton, Ava M. Collins of Newark, and Diego D. and Joaquin J. Rodriguez-Costa of Georgetown. She will be dearly missed by all who knew, loved, and admired her.

Family and friends are invited to attend the service at Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton, Saturday, June 13. The viewing will be at 12:30 p.m., with service starting at 1 pm. Flowers are accepted or contributions in Ms. Sigrid’s memory to: Edward Jones, PO Box 162, Nassau, DE 19969 with Dominique or Ava’s name in the memo.
