Skydive to highlight Bike & Car Show Oct. 19 in Milford
Vendor and vehicle registration is open for the Delaware State Council, Vietnam Veterans of America’s fourth annual Fallout Bike and Car Show Saturday, Oct. 19, rain date Oct. 26, at the Delaware Veterans Home, 100 Delaware Veterans Road, Milford.
“This fundraising event, to benefit the home’s residents, is growing each year, and this year we’ve added an event that will wow the crowds,” said organizer Denny Mehrenberg.
Sam Chick, who served in Iraq as a member of the 101st Airborne Assault Division, will parachute onto the property, weather permitting. Attendees will have the opportunity to win several flags, including one flown over the U.S. Capital, carried by Chick in his jump.
Gates will open at 9 a.m. Registration will begin at 10 a.m. Prizes will be awarded at 2 p.m.
Vendor spaces are available for $50 and vehicle entries are $10. Vendors of automotive or motorcycle related items are especially welcome. Event proceeds will benefit Veterans Home residents.
The event will be open to the public free of charge.
“The day will include a DJ, motorcycle rodeo events, and golf cart races,” said Mehrenberg. Employees of the home will also hold their third annual craft show. Call 302-242-2232 for more information.
