A winter storm warning for southern Delaware is in effect from 1 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, according to the National Weather Service. A winter storm warning means a winter storm is occurring or is about to occur in the area, usually within 36 hours. Accumulations are predicted to be 4 to 8 inches inland and up to 10 inches near the beaches. The weekend forecast also includes the first winter blast of the season with high temperatures in the 20s and low temperatures dipping into the teens. Brisk northwest winds will make the feel-like temperature drop into single digits most of the weekend.
