Snyder-Hall’s work speaks for itself

August 6, 2024

Although I live in northern New Castle County, I find myself compelled to support exceptionally fine candidates for the General Assembly, no matter what district they’re running in. That’s the reason I’m writing to encourage Democrats in RD 14 to vote for Claire Snyder-Hall in the primary election Tuesday, Sept. 10.

I met Claire through my work with the Delaware Voting Rights Coalition. At that time, she was executive director of Common Cause Delaware. Nationally, Common Cause grew out of the campaign financing scandals of the Nixon era. As a young man in 1973, I devoted many hours to the work of Common Cause in Virginia. Regrettably, more than ever, big money continues to buy outsized political influence in America, thanks especially to the 2010 Supreme Court decision in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission.

Delaware needs people like Claire in the General Assembly to achieve the vision of those who think the votes of ordinary people, rather than vast sums of money controlled by a few, should decide what kind of government we will have.

Do you agree? Then please vote for Claire Snyder-Hall Sept. 10.
