Last weekend, I drove down to Rehoboth from my new residence in Wilmington to spend a few days with friends before the start of the fall 2024 school semester (I have taught English in public high schools and universities for 34 years). In this light, I was delighted to see signs on my trip promoting Claire Snyder-Hall's campaign for a seat in the Delaware House of Representatives and, more immediately, her run in the Democratic primary being held Tuesday, Sept 10. I have known Claire since 1990 when we met in grad school, and have followed her storied career as a professor of politics and government, a teacher and an activist on local, state and federal levels.
For anyone in District 14 who cares about education in the Rehoboth area, she is the clear choice in the primary. With the endorsement of the Delaware State Education Association, Claire will make a positive difference when it comes to fighting for the educational needs of children, as well as other members of the community. Her unblemished record as a public advocate and a teacher, and her expertise in government policy will make Claire a big win for Delaware.
