As schools, programs and services have closed to help stop the spread of COVID-19, Delaware special education consultant Dr. William Lane has launched an online resource directory to help parents of special education students who are struggling with how to get the support they need for their children.
This directory compiles the latest news, activities, and resources to help parents best support their special education children. With everything from free educational website links and adaptive activities parents can implement at home to articles about special education law changes, the page is updated daily with new information.
“Throughout my career, first as a special education teacher and then as an assistant principal overseeing and evaluating special education programs, I have both the experience of working one-on-one with these students in the classroom as well as an administrator’s perspective, and I can only imagine the stress parents are under right now,” said Lane. “It is my hope that this resource directory gives parents the support they need to help their children. To date, I have compiled nearly 250 news articles, activities, or website links, and I am adding more daily.”
