Stafford Golden Long, loved his family, sports
Stafford Golden Long, 66, passed away peacefully Monday, April 21, 2025, in Milton. Born April 9, 1959, he was the beloved son of the late Barbara Long.
Stafford lived a full life filled with simple joys and deep love for his family and friends. He had a passion for golfing and fishing, and could often be found enjoying a day at the beach or cheering on his favorite football team, the Philadelphia Eagles. He proudly retired from Insulator Local 42, where he gained many lifelong brothers. Stafford also treasured the time he spent playing softball and coaching Little League baseball, creating lasting memories and sharing his love of the game. His love for sports was matched only by the love he had for his family, whom he cherished dearly.
Stafford is survived by his loving children, son, Eric Long; daughter, Ashley Long; and stepson, Jason Long; his wife, Christina Barsness; his sisters, Kathryn Peoples and Kristen Dawson; his brother, Tommy Martone; his father, Thomas Martone Sr.; his stepmother, Joanne Martone; and his adored nephew, Billy Long. In recent years, Stafford was blessed to discover a larger family than he had known, spending time and making beautiful memories while embracing many new nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Fawn Smith Kaczynski; and his brothers, William and George Long.
Stafford will be remembered for his kind heart, warm sense of humor, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. His family and friends will miss him deeply and hold his memory close always. His presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
A private service will be held in his honor.
