Rehoboth Beach announced March 16 that beach replenishment is now expected to begin on or around Saturday, April 8.

From Rehoboth to Fenwick Island, towns along the state’s coastline are slated for beach replenishment. The project was expected to begin in Rehoboth Saturday, April 1.

Lynne Coan, city spokesperson, said the start date has been moved due to the extension of a project currently underway in New Jersey. The contractor continues to mobilize, with delivery of shore pipe and large equipment expected next week, said Coan.
