Money goes toward saving Fourth Street Preserve
July 25, 2024

The campaign to save Lewes’ Fourth Street Preserve got a boost thanks to a local restaurant owner.

Leisa Berlin, owner of Station on Kings, gave a check for $12,375 from a fundraiser held July 1.

The money will go toward the Greater Lewes Foundation’s Open Space Alliance campaign to save the Fourth Street Preserve.

The preserve is a 29-acre parcel located within city limits in Lewes. The campaign has raised more than $3.5 million toward its goal of $8 million to buy the land and keep it as open space.

Berlin wanted to thank her staff for making the Station on Kings fundraiser a big success: Ashley DiMichele, Andrea Wharton, Brooke Taylor, Ethan Page, Edith Enriquez, Erin Esken, Alex Mancini, Jade Jones, Valene Hathaway, Gustavo Hernandez, Sebastian Klimitchev, Jaxson Renshaw, Caleb Cabellos, Julio Tijerina, Brenda Gomez, Jeanette Salinas, Paula Ruiz, Gisela Carranza and Lily Dickinson.

The Open Space Alliance is holding a fundraiser called Art for Open Space from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, July 27, at the Inn at Canal Square in Lewes. The event will feature work by prominent local artists, with all sales benefiting the Open Space Alliance campaign.
