Students, staff and friends of Lewes Elementary marked the one-year anniversary of the school’s opening April 27 with a daylong celebration.
Community members volunteered their time – and their ability to source hundreds of donated cupcakes – to lead students in a variety of activities, including Zumba, karaoke, a STEM project, art, yoga and cooking.
All participants enjoyed an outdoor cookout lunch, and members of the fifth-grade class gathered for a class photo with several members of the Cape High Class of 1976.
Belting out “Let it Go” during karaoke club are (l-r) Harmony Neske-Kammerzell, Aniya Murray, Quinn Clark, Zoe May and Madori Torres.
Participating in a STEM activity in front of a photo of the historic school building are (l-) Olivia Zingone, Ayden Bonilla-Merced and Jonah Hewitt.
