Sussex County Council presents a tribute to county engineer Mike Izzo, who has retired after 31 years of service to the county with 19 years as head engineer. Izzo starts a new job as an engineer working for a contractor at the Wallops Flight Facility near Wallops Island, Va. In tribute to his service, the county is naming an engineering conference room in his honor. "I've been blessed with a wonderful staff," he said. "They are the definition of public servants."
Izzo suggested that council create a ring of honor to pay homage to county employees who have spent their whole lives devoted to Sussex County.
At the Sept. 15 presentation are (l-r) county council members Joan Deaver, Mike Vincent, Izzo, Sam Wilson, George Cole and Rob Arlett.
