Sussex Family YMCA joins food distribution

The Sussex Family YMCA distributed food at its Church Street location in Rehoboth Beach recently, with Food Bank of Delaware providing 120 boxes.  

Community members drove in to pick up boxes of pre-packaged, non-perishable food staples, and a weekend food bag for children, and then were directed to Epworth Methodist Church food pantry for fresh vegetables. YMCA of Delaware held the distribution at multiple locations across the state.

Each Friday, the YMCA  will distribute weekend meals for children-in-need through the Food Bank of Delaware Backpack Program. Meals will include nutritious food such as shelf-stable milk and juice, macaroni and cheese, spaghetti and meatballs, beef stew, granola bars, apple sauce, cereal and more. Meals are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. No registration is required.
