Sussex Pain Relief Center welcomes Dr. Andrew Crichlow
As an important step forward in Sussex Pain Relief Center’s ongoing efforts to recruit physicians to the area who promote a non-pharmacological approach to treating pain, it has hired Andrew Crichlow, MD, MBA, as an interventional pain specialist with a focus on intrathecal pump therapy and spinal cord stimulation.
A U.S. Marine who was deployed in 2003 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Crichlow is an accomplished practitioner who is board certified in anesthesiology and pain management. Over a 10-year career, he has developed a broad range of experience in treating pain patients but is especially well-versed in treating back pain, neck pain and multiple joint pain.
Crichlow recently moved to Milton from Virginia with his artist wife, three children, and their rambunctious cat.
His premier specialty is in implanting intrathecal pain pumps, an effective method of pain control for patients for whom all other options have been exhausted. Their targeted delivery system via a microdosing mechanism means that medicine is delivered directly to the receptors in the spinal cord, making it a much more effective method to treat pain that produces almost no side effects.
This outpatient procedure is just one of the many life-changing pain-relief therapies among a suite of emerging technologies that have sprung up in response to the need for a more functional approach to managing pain that seeks to disrupt the pain cycle.
“Andrew has invested in us as much as we have invested in him. By moving here, he has shown that he understands the growth potential that Sussex County holds. This is someone who is committed to making a difference, and he’s here to stay,” said Dr. Manonmani Antony, chief practitioner and CEO of Sussex Pain Relief Center.
Sussex Pain Relief Center is accepting new patients at its Georgetown and Lewes locations. New patients will be given appointments within two weeks.
