Sussex Republican Women's Club announces new officers
Sussex County Republican Women's Club installed newly elected officers during its recent meeting at Kings Creek Country Club in Rehoboth Beach.
Former First Vice President Cathy Watts takes the reins as president with Immediate Past President Alana Keeley serving as interim first vice president. Vicki Carmean is the new second vice president while Sally Duveneck continues as treasurer with Dee Jordan serving as assistant treasurer. Sandra Fennell is recording secretary and Carol Brumley is corresponding secretary.
Administering the oath of office was Delaware Federation of Republican Women President Paula Manolakos with DFRW Past President Mary Spicer assisting in the time-honored tradition.
In her closing remarks as outgoing president, Keeley thanked all of the 2014-15 officers, committee chairs and volunteers. She said, “I am proud of everything we have done to raise money for our Republican candidates, to support our elected officials, encourage qualified women to run for political office and to attract more women to the Republican Party.”
Watts said, “I sincerely thank the dedicated and hardworking women who volunteer their time serving on the 2016-17 Sussex County Republican Women’s Club Board. The 2016 general election will be an exciting time for our party, our state and our country. As we have been doing for the past 64 years, SCRWC will be there to support our Republican candidates.”
It is the mission of the Sussex County Republican's Women's Club to assist in the election of Republican candidates, act as an advocate for the Republican Party's principles and empower women to participate in the political process. SCRWC, the largest Republican Women’s Club in Delaware, has been actively engaging women in the political process for more than six decades.
