SwitchFlops founder Lindsay Phillips to be at Blooming Boutique Aug. 5, 6

Blooming Boutique will host Lindsay Phillips Friday, Aug. 5 and Saturday, Aug. 6. Phillips is the energetic inspiration and founding force behind SwitchFlops, a unique footwear concept.

Phillips will be at Blooming Boutique in Rehoboth from 12 to 4 p.m., Aug. 5 and and she will be at Blooming Boutique in Lewes from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Aug. 6.

Lindsay Phillips Shoes and SwitchFlops are interchangeable footwear that allow wearers to change the look of their shoes easily (and affordably) to match any outfit. Blooming Boutique will be offering lots of specials, including purchase a pair of shoes or Switchflops and receive 25 percent off a second pair, and buy three snaps or straps and get a snap or strap for free. All Lindsay Phillips specials will run through Sunday, Aug. 7. There will be refreshments at both locations.

Phillips' footwear concept evolved from a high school art project - ceramic flip flops. Amazed by the response, she began designing functional flip flops with colorful straps, each adorned by a unique button. Her idea evolved when she realized that by using hook-and-loop fastener she could create one shoe with many straps – unlimited choices with minimal effort. This simple innovation was the birth of SwitchFlops. Phillips applied for a patent on her idea before she graduated from high school.

With the variety of SwitchFlops strap designs and sandals, her dream of changing from beach casual to a formal affair in a matter of seconds was realized. Phillips says, "Change your look, not your sole."
