Tanger donates to Lewes Fire Department
Realizing the importance of the all volunteer fire department, the Tanger Factory Outlet Centers donated $1,000 to the Lewes Fire Department Oct. 9.
Amy Norgate, outlet general manager, said the company enjoys supporting the local municipalities and first responders. The Lewes Fire Department helps us at Tanger Midway and all with all of our other projects, she said.
Lewes Fire Department President Dale “Woody” Magee appreciated the donation and said the money will be put towards the completion of Station 2, which is currently under construction just west of the Nassau bridge.
Magee said the completion date for the new fire house is between mid-November and the beginning of December.
When completed, Magee said, the building will be fitted with all new technology, be able to house up to 40 people in case of an emergency, and provide department members with a place to work out.
This is a plan for the future, Magee said.
