Tanner Scott Nickerson, loved his family

October 24, 2024

Tanner Scott Nickerson, 26, of Milford, passed away Monday, Oct. 21, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family after a 10-month hard-fought battle with cancer. He was born Oct. 22, 1997, in Easton, Md., son of Jeffrey and April Nickerson.

Tanner graduated from Cape Henlopen High School Class of 2015. He proudly worked as a carpenter, most recently for American Cedar. In his spare time, you could find Tanner fishing, golfing, or gaming. He always had a song in his heart, and loved listening to and singing country music. Tanner was a known jokester. His quick wit could make anyone laugh while his bright blue eyes would light up a room. Tanner would have been proud to have been cheering his New York Yankees on in the World Series; maybe he can give them a little extra help from upstairs this year. Above all else, Tanner loved his family and spending time with his son.

In addition to his parents, Tanner is survived by the true light of his life, his son, Ryder Nickerson and his mother Erin Kane; his brothers, Tucker and Tripp Nickerson; his best friend, Dakota Zugehoer; and many extended family and friends who will miss him forever.

A Celebration of Tanner's Life will be held at a later date.
