Delaware Department of Transportation officials installed a temporary left-turn traffic signal at the intersection of Route 1 at Eagle Crest Road between Lewes and Milton to improve traffic access to Hudson Fields for two events – the Associated Builders and Contractors barbecue and crab feast from 3 to 9 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 24, and the Nanticoke Indian Powwow set for Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 9 and 10.
According to DelDOT spokesman C.R. McLeod, the signal will remain in place following the Aug. 24 event but will not be active until it is used again for powwow traffic.
Looking north on Route 1, several traffic barrels and electronic signs draw attention to the temporary traffic signal.
