Terry R. Flores, faithful church member

Terry R. Flores, 78, of Lewes, passed away Sunday, Jan. 21, 2024, at Delaware Hospice in Milford. She was born Sept. 25, 1945, in Baltimore, Md., daughter of the late Albert and Ruth (Terry) Rutherford.

Terry was a graduate of Milford Mill High School Class of 1963. She then furthered her education at Midland College in Midland, Texas, obtaining an associate degree in applied science in 1990. Terry married the love of her life, Sam Flores, May 7, 1971, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Baltimore, Md., and the two would spend the next 52 years creating countless memories and raising their family.

A natural caregiver, her life's work was as a registered nurse, and she dedicated many years to her career and helping others, working for Midland Memorial Hospital and later for Princeton Dermatology from where she retired after many dedicated years.

Terry was a child of God and a faithful member of Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Rehoboth Beach, where she assisted with meals for the international students. She believed in giving back to her community and in her spare time she was teaching students English as a second language, an activity that brought her great joy. Terry's favorite pastimes included sewing and crocheting, particularly prayer shawls at church. Terry loved traveling and she visited several countries including Mexico, Italy, and Spain; she has also been to Hawaii and Alaska. Spending time with her family and friends was what she treasured most. Terry's memory will continue to inspire and bring comfort to those who are fortunate enough to know and love her.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Joan E. Luers. She is survived by her husband, Sam Flores; and her daughters, Kimberly and Melanie Flores.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024, at The Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 20276 Bay Vista Road, Rehoboth Beach, where friends and family may visit beginning at 10 a.m.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Terry's memory to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
