Theresa M. Johnson, generous woman

Theresa M. Johnson, 68, of Seaford, passed away Monday, April 15, 2024, at Tidal Health Nanticoke Seaford. 

Theresa was born in Lewes July 17, 1955, to the late George Linguard and Ethel Knight. She worked at Vlasic Foods in Millsboro for many years. She also had her own cleaning business (TAAG) for 10 years before retiring due to illness.

Theresa was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. "Reet," as she was affectionately known, was a very generous woman who didn't mind sharing and giving to anyone, whether they were in need or not. This was her nature. Theresa was small in stature but the love she gave was grand.

Theresa is survived by a longtime companion, Wendell Timmons of Berlin, Md.; five children, Xavier Johnson of Seaford, Aristotle Johnson (Ebony) of Seaford, Ayona Walker (Omar) of Felton, Alfonso Johnson (Valerie) of Selbyville, and Antwain Johnson of Seaford; four sisters: Gloria Rogers (Ross) of Frankford, Andrea Knight of Norfolk, Va., Mashell Knight of Philadelphia, Pa., and Trudeanna Neal of Portsmouth, Va.; six godchildren, Nyles Jarmon of Frankford, Jaquita Turnage of Frankford, Reginald Mitchell of Massachusetts, Marquel Knight of Frankford, Tyrone Atkins of Millsboro, and Ronshika Smith of Seaford; a special niece, Antanell Knight Bailey of Frankford; 37 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; the Selby family; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to her parents, Theresa is preceded in death by her two sisters, Lillie Johnson and Sherita Doughty; and two brothers, Robert Knight and Thomas Knight.
